Ok, so this is pretty late, sorry. No excuse except that I've been pretty busy for the last couple of days.
Anyway, this week's (late) Affordable Wedding dresses post is on 1960s inspired wedding dresses. The sixties was a time of great change and freedom, especially for women, Subsequently there was a loosening of previous restricted clothing and hems got a lot shorter. like Audrey Hepburn on her second wedding a lot of brides opted for mini dresses for a chic and modern (for the time) look.
I've collected some lovely sixties-style wedding dresses, both long and short, that are low-priced. Check them out below.
Lady Penelope - Kitty & Dulcie
First up is this classic sixties wedding dress from Kitty & Dulcie. It has a padded and boned bodice that gives you shape and is made from delicate white lace.
I love the long sleeves and the cuffs.
This dress has a very Audrey Hepburn feel.
1960s White Lace, Long Sleeve, A-Line Wedding Gown - Etsy
This lovely gown is a real vintage sixties wedding dress from Etsy seller ErmaandAgnes. Being a long dress it is not immediately evocative of the 1960s that we think of nowadays; mini skirts and mods, but it has the classic touches; A-line, bow detail and simple design.
The long lace cape/train adds drama and makes this sixties wedding dress really stand out.
Nicolette - Ruche
This cute and affordable wedding dress from the Ruche Bridal collection has a real retro feel. It's not everyone's taste but the party dress style gown is short and sweet.
It has a fitted top and a ballerina skirt with a subtle bow.
It's ideal for a summer wedding, or you could wear it with coloured tights and a cropped jacket for a winter wedding.
Vintage 60s Chiffon and Lace Wedding Dress with Train - Etsy
This stunning gown is another real 1960s wedding dress, this time from Dainty rascal on Etsy. It's got a classic fitted bodice which flares out into a full skirt that's trimmed in Chantilly lace.
I love the back detail and the sleeves. A really unique wedding dress that would make you feel amazing.
That's all for this week, next week it's cheap 1970s wedding dresses. I'll try to post it on time!
